Job Role:
• Manage team workload and ensure smooth running of day‐to‐day operations
• Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice, vision, strategy, procedures and
processes to aid and improve operational performance
• Drive customer service excellence by ensuring the team is meeting client KPI’s and is adding value
to the clients
• Act as an escalation point for customer service complaints
• Deliver solutions to logistics problems while maintaining high levels of quality and service
• Monitor quality, quantity, KPIs, and transport costs
• Ensure compliance with customs regulations
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with all connected parties within the logistics process
• Liaise with Sales department to ensure smooth implementation of new accounts
• Select and negotiate terms with transportation and logistics providers; evaluate supplier
performance
• Recruit, manage, coach and develop a high performing team that meets agreed objectives and
delivers best practice results, added value and continuous improvements
• Set departmental objectives/KPIs and review and assess ongoing performance of direct reports
• Report on achievement of targets and identify any actions required
Desirable experience and qualities:
• Proven experience in the logistics industry
• Previous management experience with strong leadership skills and with the ability to optimise team
performance and development
• Proven analytical, problem solving and organisational skills
• Strong interpersonal, negotiation and influencing skills
• Commercially minded with the ability optimise profitability whilst still adding value to clients
• Strong planning skills with the ability to handle multiple projects and work under pressure
