Business Development Engineer

Role

  • Generate future sales opportunities across the contractor spectrum of HVACR & Renewables
  • Formulate and execute an effective business plan (in conjunction with line management) to achieve or exceed set sales targets / business objectives
  • Seek out and develop new business partners across all defined customer target groups inc. contractors / M&E’s
  • End-to-end project tracking, sales forecasting and conversion

 Accountabilities

  • Ensure sales targets are met or exceeded within the agreed timeframe, to contribute towards the achievement of the regional sales target.
  • Focus on introducing and familiarising new accounts and from these relationships developing new relationships. New customers to be retained by sales engineer for another full financial year following year of creation, prior to transfer to account management (when applicable).
  • Respond to customer enquiries by selecting and applying equipment to meet requirements and ensure referral to Sales Order Support / Applications and Quotations to complete technical specification and quotation processing.
  • Ensure CRM is effectively used for all areas of the role e.g.: project tracking / sales cycle process / customer activities & tasks / calendar planning / lead management.
  • Find, qualify and activate new or dormant accounts, in order to grow store coverage and build future trading relationships.
  • Undertake the day to day management of customer accounts to maximise opportunities and exceed customer expectations.
  • Actively engage with customer hospitality and marketing/development events, including organisation (when required) and hosting.
