BDM – Lighting Controls


Overall Purpose

  • To drive and grow the electrical wholesale channel in the UK
  • Establish and maintain key relationships with medium and larger electrical contractors
  • Close specified jobs in timely fashion closing the loop with our wholesale partners


Key Responsibilities

  • Build group of EW branches stocking more trade relevant products to further increase exposure of brand in UK
  • Creating a network of preferred distributors encompassing stock, trained champion, field programming capability, trade counter installation, merchandising and promotion
  • Spend minimum 75% of time building contractor and installer channel in local regions
  • Pass leads over USD50k to specification sales team
  • Liaise and leverage revenue from specification team
  • Support large projects with EW/back office and specification team
  • Promote marketing strategy with electrical contractors
  • Attend local trade shows
  • Training for electrical contractors including attend local meetings of the industries bodies like ECA, NIC EIC and EICNIC
  • Service 30 electrical contractor accounts
  • To maintain all information/account records and opportunities on Salesforce.com (SFDC)



  • Electronic engineering degree
  • Experience in the lighting or custom installation industry
  • Mother tongue English + Other European languages a plus
  • Able to work with technical sales
  • Strong sales ability, proven sales track record
  • A full working knowledge of the Electrical contractor and lighting industry and can bring an existing customer base specifically from the commercial sector
  • Good communication skills and presentation skills
  • Computer literate and technically competent
  • Proficiency in IT skills (e.g. Salesforce.com)
  • Able to work independently
