Applications Engineer – Lighting, EMEA

The primary focus of this position is to drive the application engineering functions to provide with technical support to the outside salesforce, including after sale, and to support the activity of the Sales team in driving revenue through business planning and customer/end user development. This will require a very close collaboration with the product engineering department to provide product and technology support.

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Support all international distributors before and after sales with light design back office assistance
  • Support tenders and coordinate all the company functions involved in the process
  • Support internal sales force with customer calls and on-site visits
  • Liaise with product engineering and product technology teams to provide overall technical support to internal and external salesforce
  • Provide product and technology training to customers, internal and external salesforce
  • Visit distributors at their premises as needed to provide technical product support
  • Maintain up-to-date project information the Salesforce.com platform
  • Support special products process through coordination of salesforce requirements, analysis from the product engineering team, and the response to the sales team
  • Assist customers on RMA’s issues when required, including on-site visits
  • Together with the rest of the Applications Engineering and Specialists team support Product Engineering and Product Marketing in the development of new optics and new products, driving information on market demands and current product gaps

Requirements: 

  • College degree required or equivalent business experience
  • Excellent capability of teamwork
  • Preferred 3 years general experience in the lighting industry, with experience working with specifiers, contractors, and distributors
  • Computer skills, to include – Dialux, Relux, AGI32, Lighting Reality, Outlook, Excel, Power Point and Internet Research.
  • Strong working experience with Salesforce.com preferred
  • Excellent command of English language (verbal and written)
  • Team management skills

 

Preferences:

  • 3+ years of experience (sales and/or key accounts) in the lighting industry
  • Demonstrated history of key account sales/business development success
  • French or German as a second language
