Company - Internationally recognised organisation operating on a large scale in the chemical process industry.
ROLE - To identify process improvement projects and implement.
- To identify strategic solutions to ensure plant flexibility for future products.
- To support Production and Technology for the introduction of new and improved technologies, processes and process changes.

3. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Management of Capital Projects and Process Improvement Projects to ensure successful implementation in an efficient manner taking into consideration all EHS requirements.
- Development of Project Scopes to support other capital projects.
- Supporting SHE Reviews and HAZOPS
- Identification and implementation of projects for process efficiency gains.
- Shutdown planning and communication with Logistics and Production of requirements for project installation.
- To provide technical assistance to other functionaries e.g. Quality, Production, Maintenance, EHS and Technology.
- Promote the sharing of best practice with other manufacturing sites for resolution of manufacturing problems.

Due to projects and new technology introductions having defined milestones, along with interaction with other departments, this position requires strengths in the following competencies:

5. CONTACT WITH OTHERS
- Part of the Process Engineering team
- Reporting to Process Engineering Manager
- Liaison with the Project Group to ensure efficient implementation of Projects.
- Supporting Production Engineers in Plant Troubleshooting as necessary.
- Coaching of production personnel with regards to product and process optimisation and general working practices.
- Communication and interaction with other functionaries such as production, Logistics, Quality, Maintenance and EH&S is vital for the success of project and technology introductions.
- Liaise with Technology groups and overseas sites
6. MAJOR CHALLENGE OF THE JOB
- Meeting project timelines and costs
- Needs to be able to work with people from every level
- Needs to be able to understand complex systems that may include control, mechanical and chemical interactions
- Education and training of Production personnel as required by new products and projects.
CANDIDATE - You will need to have ideally a degree in Chemical Engineering/Production Engineering - High level of computer literacy
- Analytical problem solving skills.
- Sound understanding of basic engineering concepts
- Understanding of chemical processes
