EXPERIENCED UPS (UNINTERRUPTIBLE POWER SUPPLY) SERVICE ENGINEERS REQUIRED FOR THE UKS LARGEST UPS MANUFACTURERS
THE COMPANY:
My client is the UK’s market leader in the UPS Market. Established for over 80 years the organisation Design, Build and Maintain UPS systems for some of the UK’s biggest names. Now due to great success and rapid expansion they are recruiting 3 field service engineers.
THE ROLE:
This role is a mobile role covering the London area, duties will include:
•Undertaking the commissioning of complete UPS systems at a variety of sites throughout the UK to either manufacturers recommendations or customer agreed Site Acceptance Test procedures.
•Carry out contract maintenance and inspection on a planned basis to manufacturer’s recommendations. All planning of maintenance visits is undertaken within service administration with suitable instructions issued to the engineer.
•Provide a repair service to contract customers either planned repairs or as part of a call out facility.
•Submit required reports to service administration in a timely manner following all site activity.
•Promote company image on site by providing a professional service to customer, where necessary instructing site staff on proper care and operation of installed equipment.
•Providing information to Service Operations Manager aimed at improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the service operations.
THE CANDIDATE:
The ideal candidate would posses the following:
• Degree or Equivalent in Electrical engineering or relevant field
• 2 years + experience with working with UPS or Switchgear equipment
• 3 years + in similar position
• Strong customer service skills
• Excellent problem solver

Role
The successful candidate will undertake standard service activity including major and minor diesel servicing, carry out contract maintenance and inspection on a planned basis to recommend standards as well as fault finding, rectification and remedial work.
Candidate
Previous experience within the generator stand by power or related industry is desirable as well as experience in a field operations role and of fault finding and recification.
Salary
£18,000 - £23,000
PLUS Overtime (candidate will be looking at approx £8k - £10k extra), 22 days holiday plus bank holidays, contributory pension scheme, health care, life assurance, share options scheme AND MORE.

CANDIDATE - Ideally, educated by City and Guilds, ONC in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
Experience within a production line, in a FMCG environment is desirable
Knowledge of planned preventative maintenance practices
Experience of working within a 5S environment, experience of Electrical Engineering or PLC skills is also desirable |

ROLE - Main Duties & Responsibilities:
The installation of both electrical and mechanical projects as required.
Breakdown and service works.
Available for out of hours work where reasonably required.
Providing reports on completion of each job to the relevant Service coordinator or Project engineer,
Responsible for providing technical advice relating to the site works and support to the Service Team and Supervisor as required.
Providing trouble shooting help and advice if required to the Service Team.
Ensure that all paperwork is up-to-date and issued on time.
Work to the direction of the Service co-coordinators and Project Engineers
Ensure that all required certificates & calibrations are current and advise accordingly.
CANDIDATE - 16th / 17th Edition of the IEE Wiring Regulations (BS 7671:2008) qualified
NICEIC or equivalent approved
Experienced in the installation of frequency inverter drives
Experienced in industrial / commercial electrical contracting
A background of mechanical contracting would be an advantage, but not essential
A knowledge of controls (Building Management System work) would be desirable
Excellent communication skills with the confidence to communicate with clients at all levels from site engineer to consultant
Pro-active self-starter, capable of working on own initiative |
