Supply Chain Manager
Our client has developed an unrivalled reputation for product quality. Due to continued growth we have an exciting opportunity for a Supply Chain Manager.
ROLE
The Supply Chain Manager will set up a robust and effective supply chain organisation from scratch to satisfy overseas offset opportunities or in support of international business development activities.
This position is accountable for the effective planning of material requirements, inventory control, supplier evaluation and selection, placement of purchase orders for assigned commodities, supplies or services and for the conduct of supplier relations resulting in successful support of department/program, division and corporate objectives. T
The Supply Chain Manager will need to take a strategic approach, plan to short lead times, management of Customer Service Agreements and control of products at supplier hubs.
Direct cost/price analysis and negotiation planning for major sub-contracts and purchases.
Responsible for ensuring the supply chain strategy is communicated across the organisation and followed.
Deliver agreed savings and performance improvement benefits and be accountable for performance of total supply chain.
CANDIDATE
You will have a Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience.
Ideally CIPS qualified (equivalent experience will be considered)
Extensive and substantial experience in supply chain management in defence related business.
Use of MRP systems and tools
SALARY
£55,000-£60,000 dependant on experience Car or Car allowance plus excellent benefits.

Our client is a group of specialist businesses designing, manufacturing and supporting electronic and electromechanical products and sub systems for the international defence, transit and aerospace markets.
Role
The Materials Control Department is responsible for the price negotiation, contract agreement and purchase of all goods, materials and services for our client.
It is the role of the Supply Chain Manager to manage the Materials Control Team in order to purchase materials and services for the business at the most favourable terms and within cost and programme timescales and targets.
Candidate
Previous experience in senior supply chain or procurement role and in line management.
Background in electronics and electromechanical manufacturing.
Experience in working with product having a high technical content manufactured in low volume, high value batch production environment.
Experience with change management and setting up new procurement systems.
Extensive knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles.
ONC/HNC in engineering or business studies or qualification by relevant experience.
You will be a CIPS Corporate Member or equivalent, a good communicator, well organised, approachable, resilient and an effective manager of people. |
