Project Manager/Programme Manager-Defence
Our client has developed an unrivalled reputation for product quality. Due to continued growth we have an exciting opportunity for a Programme/Project Manager.
ROLE
This role is to create and implement a capture strategy for a major Defence programme in the UK. The job holder will be responsible for building strategic relationships with customers and potential partner companies, both internal and external and building a strong team to position the company in a leading position to win this major position.
The Successful Programme Manager will create and implement a Capture Strategy on a large (£multi million) contract in the UK
Work with Business Development, Programme Management and Engineering Staff to produce for review plans, policies and concepts for the implementation of the programme
CANDIDATE
The Programme Manager will have a University Degree (or equivalent experience) preferably in electronics engineering, radar/communications technology or defence related subject
Substantial and extensive experience in Project Management role within defence sector, preferably leading multi disciplinary teams
Project management of portfolio of projects (£1m to £10m)
Experience of 'front-end' of programmes, developing bids, proposals or business cases and driving them through the approval process
SALARY
£55,000-£60,000 dependant on experience Car or Car allowance plus excellent benefits.

ROLE
* Ensuring that all assigned projects are planned and managed to meet agreed budgets and timescales over the full project lifecycle.
* Prime point of contact with customers and partners.
* Identification and management of project risks.
* Co-ordination of all project activity within the business.
CANDIDATE
Educated to degree level or equivalent, ideally with a defence background and a Project Management qualification.
* Experienced in managing multi-functional complex projects. * Confident and diplomatic, with the ability to create and foster working relationships.
* Self motivated and able to produce accurate work under pressure and meet deadlines.
* A competent user of Microsoft Project and other IT Systems.
* Willing to travel locally and overseas and work long and/or unsociable hours when necessary. |
