ROLE
You will provide Secretarial support to the Finance Director.
Your role will involve Diary management, travel arrangements, filing, typing of documents, arrange meetings, control hire of conference rooms, dictation, create new filing systems, Admin support to Finance, IT, Purchasing and others Finance Support.
You will be responsible for the Stationary management, filing, typing of letters, memos and faxes, chasing payment of invoices Procurement support.
Organisation of hire cars, control of pool car fleet, assistance with insurance documentation, assist in acquisition of new company cars

CANDIDATE
You must have fast accurate typing, Word, Excel and other computer packages
Typing, shorthand, Word Processing, good organisational skills, ability to work on own and as part of a team, excellent telephone manner, good time management
NVQ L3 in Business Administration or equivalent Word Processing Stage 3 Parts 1 and 2, shorthand Transcription, Typing

Immediate Accountant required
Our client a leading independent defence company boasts a worldwide reputation for engineering excellence with a renowned and diverse portfolio spanning almost a century now have an immediate position for a Accountant.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Accountant's role is as follows:-

* Producing Month End accounts
* Sales Invoicing & Credit Control
* Month End Closedown of all Ledgers
* Reconcile & validate control accounts
* External Reporting (Intrastat / Govt Statistics etc)
* Vat
* Oversee Balancing of Purchase Ledger
* Communicating & clearing with departments re Invoice queries
* Supplier Invoice payruns ( processing & clearance )
* Oversee Accrual of unposted Overhead Supplier Invoices
* Banking
* Ensure adherence to company procedures
* Assisting in the implementation of a new manufacturing IT system
* Adhoc accounting support
* Updating of Currency Exchange Rates

The Accontants key Areas of Resposibilities will be to
* Production of Management accounts for timely submission
* Ensuring the best cash position for the company based on Sales Invoicing, credit control, and purchase ledger pay runs.
* Ensure that the purchase invoices are dealt with and cleared in a timely manner, ensuring valid, current cost centre cost analysis.
* Valid accruals of unposted and new invoices within 3-4 days of month end.
* Reconcile relevant control accounts to validate Balance Sheet
* Support Finance Manager in preparation of Group Management accounts.
* Ensure compliance with statistical reporting.
* Identify & address areas within both computer & procedural systems which can be improved upon.
* Absence cover to ensure smooth running of Finance.

The Accountant will have the following Knowledge, Skills, Experience:

Knowledge: UK GAAP and an understanding of accounting systems is desirable

Skills: Computer skills: spreadsheet, word processing

Experience: Considerable and extensive accounting experience preferably from a
manufacturing background

Qualifications: Finalist / Qualified ACA / ACCA / CIMA
